Online and Offline Gambling in Idaho
Idaho’s gambling market is narrow and tightly regulated. Online casinos, online poker, sports betting, and daily fantasy sports are prohibited. Players have no access to state-licensed digital platforms, leaving the online market closed.
Offline, however, several legal forms exist. The Idaho Lottery offers national draw games like Powerball and Mega Millions, along with scratch tickets and state-only draws. The state also permits pari-mutuel betting on horse racing, though the industry has struggled in recent years. Charitable gaming is allowed in the form of licensed bingo and raffles.
Idaho also has tribal casinos, operated by federally recognized tribes under compacts with the state. These casinos feature slot machines, poker, and Class III table games, giving residents access to limited but legal in-person gambling.
The minimum gambling age in Idaho is 18 for lottery, bingo, and pari-mutuel betting, and 21 for casino-style gambling at tribal venues. In practice, Idaho offers a blend of modest land-based gambling and a complete absence of online regulation.
